My Story So Far
After growing from 4 to 20 pools by taking on the hard jobs, I soon found myself doubling that number. My brother-in-law had sold a 30-pool route to someone who didn’t hold up his end — he dropped the ball, and because of the sale agreement, my brother-in-law couldn’t take them back. I stepped in and picked up as many as I could, pushing my route to 40 pools. It was a turning point — more work, more stress, but also more income and experience.
This Past Week
This week was packed. I serviced my full route, handled a couple small repairs, and knocked out 8 filter cleans. It reminded me how physically demanding this work really is — every pool, every bend, every lift adds up. Now, I’m officially one week away from my hip replacement surgery. And honestly? I’m ready. Mentally, physically, and business-wise — it’s time.
New Lessons and Thoughts
Growth often comes from someone else's mistake — be ready to step in and step up.
Even after 20 years, a busy week can still wear you out — systems matter more than ever.
Facing surgery brings clarity: you start seeing what really needs to change, and what you’ve been avoiding.
Confidence comes from preparation — I’ve done the work, now it’s time to let go and trust the process.
Looking Ahead
This coming week, I’ll focus on doing what I can to leave my route in solid shape. I’ll also be prepping my mind and body — eating better, resting more, and keeping a positive mindset for what’s ahead. This isn’t the end of my journey — just the start of a smarter, stronger version of it.
